“It is with color that you render light, though you must also feel this light, have it within yourself.”
—Henri Matisse

Color healing is closely linked to sound healing. Like sound, color has a vibration—a frequency wavelength that powerfully affects health and well-being. One way of understanding color’s vibration is to imagine color as visible sound.

Each color in the spectrum has unique healing properties. When used in conjunction with sound and energy healing, color adds another level of depth to the healing process.
Color is a time-honored way to shift moods, soothe pain, and stimulate healing. When you paint your bedroom blue, decide to wear a red shirt, or place a vase of daffodils on your kitchen table, you are (perhaps unconsciously) responding to the healing vibrations of that color. We all intuitively use color to help balance our energy and chakras.

Healers interpret and use color in many different ways. Brennan Healing Science uses all the colors of the spectrum both to interpret a client’s needs and to instigate healing. Each color has specific healing qualities that, when present in a client’s energy field, can indicate to a healer what needs to shift. Following is a partial list including some of the colors’ meanings and uses in healing from Barbara Brennan’s book Hands of Light.

Color Healing and the Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls

Light is the source of color, and the Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls are used to increase and expand the light within us. Therefore, the bowls heal through light, color, and sound. Each bowl is made of 98.9% pure silicon quartz and 1.1% gemstones, metals, or minerals. The gemstones and minerals enhance the effect of color in the sound healing process, each lending its unique healing properties to deepen and pinpoint the bowls’ effect.

Diamond Portals Healing uses a wide spectrum of bowls, each designed with specific healing intent by their creator, artisan William Jones. Following is a partial list of gemstones, metals, and minerals Jones uses in the bowls, along with some of their healing properties.

Citrine. Dissipates and transmutes negative energies while purifying and balancing auric fields. A legendary “merchant’s stone,” citrine helps expand and maintain wealth. It also enhances optimism, balance, initiative, and personal power and serves as a catalyst for communication, mental acuity, and new beginnings.

Gold. Encourages loving communication and activation of the thymus gland. The yang frequencies of gold are mixed with water elementals to create love, balance, self-realization, and attunement with nature’s healing forces.

Moldavite. The only extraterrestrial gemstone, moldavite is a tektite—a mineral that is formed when a meteor hits the earth. One of the most powerful gemstones, this very high frequency mineral assists in the expansion of cosmic consciousness, catalyzes change, and brings catharsis. It also powerfully stimulates the psychic senses, assists in meditation, aligns the self to a higher purpose, and can help to heal the heart.

Platinum. Carrying the energy of Venus, the goddess of love, platinum is helpful in working through emotional issues and giving birth to mature Divine Mother/Gaia energy.

Rose quartz. The soothing and healing qualities of rose quartz are well known. Its gentle yet powerful vibrations connect with the heart, erase emotional traumas, release blockages, and return us to a natural state of childlike wonder.

Ruby. Mystical ruby, known as a “stone of nobility,” radiates spiritual wisdom, health, transformation, and wealth. The Ruby Bowl sounds a lavish red spectrum that “lights” interior planes of Self. Ruby crystal carries an enduring, perfectly brilliant diamond frequency for enhancing relationships and soul love connection.

Violet (Indium). The color violet, combined with the mineral indium, holds a magenta frequency that transports the body to a balanced, anti-aging state. Indium is a trace element that promotes longevity and mineral absorption in the body. Violet and indium sine waves serve as a catalyst for positive lifestyle changes including greater flow of life force energy, better diet, increased mobility, third eye (pineal gland) activation, a fuller spiritual alignment, and balanced male and female energies.

Color Healing and the Chakras

Color, like sound, can positively affect the body’s energy centers, or chakras. Each of the seven main chakras resonates with a specific color of the spectrum. Red, the color with the slowest vibration, corresponds to the root chakra, while white, the color with the highest vibration, corresponds with the crown chakra.

Diamond Portals Healing restores chakras to their natural state of healthy vibration and color, resulting in enhanced vitality, clarity, and overall well-being.
